Katiu Bridge

The gorgeous relic of the Ottoman Empire straddles the beautiful Lengarica River in the Fir of Hotova National Park. As for the Ottoman bridges, it is on the smaller side and is composed of a large arch that crosses the Lengarica gorge. But even though it’s small, doesn’t mean it isn’t spectacular.

The bridge is an absolute beauty. It’s one of roughly two dozen Ottoman bridges in the country. it is recommended to climb the bridge, where you’ll get fantastic views of the river, surrounding gorge, and the Benja Thermal Baths below.

The Pearl of the Albanian Nature

One of the most famous villages of Korce County, located between mountains in the southeast of Albania, half an hour away from Korce, an important cultural and commercial center during 18th century. National Museum of Education

The First Albanian Language School and Museum of Education is where, for the first time, the written Albanian alphabet was taught to students. Today, the museum and old school has become the place where locals celebrate and display the history of the national language.

Curious documents at the museum include pieces of writing in the two alphabets of the language, as well as manuscripts and ancient photography.

Mirahori Mosque

One of the oldest mosques in the country. This Albanian temple, Iliaz Bej Mirahorit Mosque, dates back to the fifteenth century. It has a majestic elegance and is home to a famous stone clock tower, another local landmark in town. The complex also houses a Madrassa (place for religious studies).

The newly built minaret replaces the original one, which was torn down back in the 1990s by the Communist regime.
